#2 // Horizon: Zero Dawn
I loved Killzone. I loved all of the Killzone games – including Shadow Fall. I especially love Guerilla Games’ mechanical designs. I find them on par with Yoji Shinkawa and his work with Kojima Productions – and anyone who really knows me, knows how much I love Shinkawa’s art.
So, seeing Guerrilla Games stepping out of their comfort zone entirely – the Killzone games were all very grounded, science-fiction military first-person shooters. Think..a more realistic analog of Halo: Combat Evolved – makes me really happy. Couple that with seeing them really stretch their design chops with semi-organic looking machines – robots that look and act very much like wild animals – and you’ve got the makings of a game that has me highly intrigued.
